Movement and coordinator in a child are individual. There are expectations and accepted parameters but children are individuals who will develop these skills with guidance, patience and love. In this class we are learning together and from each other.
No matter how simple the skill is to an adult there is always a learning element to it. Sharing nicely with each other. Focus. Maneuvering the ball with hands and feet. Having fun even when things are not going your way.
Physical education or movement is often seen as simple games in the Kinder classes. We laugh and scream at the chance to run, jump, hop and make a sponge bounce on the parachute. Coordination, balance and confidence are being built and developed
Laughter and repetition are the best encouragement for learning at this sweet age. I enjoy hearing "can we ride the noodles today/" or "can we make the sponge and ball jump today?(with the parachute) ." It means they are doing something they like and it makes them happy. It is also skill building but they do not care about that. |
